Initial Assessment
What happens in your first session
Your initial assessment begins before you arrive. A short intake form gives your physiotherapist the context to ask the right questions from the start — not to fill in paperwork, but to direct the conversation toward what actually matters. You will not need to repeat yourself every visit.
The session itself opens with a thorough history. Where is the pain, how long has it been there, what makes it better or worse, what have you already tried. This is followed by a physical examination — movement testing, postural analysis, strength and neural testing where relevant. Every element of the assessment informs the clinical picture, not just the complaint.
By the end of the session, you will have a clear diagnosis, an explanation of what is driving your symptoms, and a realistic recovery plan. Most patients receive hands-on treatment in the same appointment, so the time is never spent purely on assessment. You leave with a home exercise programme and a clear sense of what comes next.

Who this is for
You are new to The PhysioSphere and coming in for the first time.
You are not sure what is causing your pain and want a clear diagnosis before committing to ongoing treatment.
You have been told to rest and it has not made a difference — or the pain has returned after a period of recovery.
You want a thorough assessment that goes beyond the symptom site and looks at your movement, load and lifestyle as a whole.
